Insane button speed issue!!!
« on: March 31, 2009, 11:13:04 PM »
I dont know what the  :censored: happened, but after I got done done my successfull sound reactive trigger mod (hold activated BTW), I noticed that when I put it back together, the volume (+ and -), and the 4 right buttons were INSANE to activate.  It was practically instantaneous!  Could using the hold switch to control 2 LEDs driving by direct contact to speaker sound reaction cause this to happen?  Could it be I messed up the power board somehow?

Have you checked that ribbon cable for any evident damage? If you have a spare one lying around, try it.

BTW, how did you get the hold switch to work with SR LEDs?
It's the basics that bring us down.

You need to use an lm386 amp to make the sound reactive lights hold activated.

I never actually used the LM386 to do the sound reaction.  I dont remember exactly how I had it hooked up, but it works.  I will have a video as soon as I get my buttons to light up.

I used a basic zener diode to control the power flow, and it works fine.  I think I used 5, have to open it back up to look.  Its most likely not the best  way to do it, but it DOES work.  I might switch over to the LM386, but I would like better sound reaction than direct contact, and the ability to add in two speakers in the back, and have those speakers only function as "bass" speakers, and filter out everything else above a certain frequency (adjustable maybe?).
