Dinner a' Movie & Video Games
« on: February 15, 2010, 09:42:07 PM »
Have you ever thought “Wow! That was a great movie! I want to play the game now too!.” Like so many Harry Potter video games and movies or the Cat Woman video game based off the movie which was more entertaining when you left your controller sit on the floor, as you tanned in the warm glow of your television.

Well then if you have ever thought that I have some of the best news in the world for you. Much like VHS versus Betamax, Blu-ray has stomped out the competition in the battle with HD-DVD. So now as it turns out Sony is looking to take advantage of the new media’s high storage capacity. They intend to do so by including the full length movie in high definition paired with the video game on the same disk.

The director of hardware marketing for Sony’s PS3, John Koller informs us that: “We are actively pushing, and the way that we see the future is that the movie and the game are placed on the same disc, There are a lot of developers who say, we have this game based on a movie, wouldn’t it be great to marry these concepts? We will definitely see this stuff this year.”

Now although this sounds like an interesting proposal the company is going to have to make this cost efficient for it’s already over charged consumers. I have a feeling that this would raise the price of the PS3s games by five to ten dollars for the extra content.

So it seems that I am not that well informed. I own a PS3 and was not aware of this. As it turns out Mr PS3 himself has informed me that what I just found out is old news from February 2009. However news is news even old news. I still found the information neat so you can to (Or Else). Oh and on a side note: Did you know that the hundred year war lasted 112 years? See that is still news... >.>;

And I may never buy a PS3 or PS3 games. I say leave the two (movies/games) separate, charge less for each, and let the consumer decide which to buy.
