Intensafire Button?
« on: June 04, 2010, 06:37:52 PM »
I see that the Intensafire comes with two button points on the flex and I'm confused on how they work. Do I just solder one end of a wire on one of those points and the other end of the button to the ground and it will shut off the rapid fire? Am I missing something?

How exactly do I make a button to turn the Intensafire off?

I'm talking about the Intensafire two button points. I'm asking how to make a button to turn the Intensafire on/off.

Yes, but I would have to go through all of the modes for that. There's no possible way to press another button once to turn it off completely?

Well im sure its possible, but i would need a intensifire infront of me to figure it out.  Well the solder point that goes to the sync button can be soldered to a tact switch.

Ya, instead of it going to the sync button, you need to solder a wire from the point on the intensifire to a tact swich.  And then you need to wire up a power and a ground to the tact switch

Would that disable the Sync button from switching through the modes?

yup, just dont even bother hooking it up to the sync button.  Just use a tact switch for it

That's not what I want though. I want the sync button to still be working fine, but another external button to shut the power off to the Intensafire when I press it.

Well that is possible. Instead of running the power straight through the intensifire, you would have to run it through the tact switch first and then the intensifire second.  So when you press the tact switch it will send power to the intensifire, and when you press the tact again it will break the circuit and shut off the intensifire.  And you would still be able to use your sync button to change modes

Could you slowly explain how to do that? Where would I need to solder exactly?

intensafire has 2 sets of code runing on it

One is Sync which is tap to turn on and tap to go to next mode 1 2 3 4 and edit  than off

Two is the butt code which is install a tact butt to the 2 point and its tap for on/off
and press and hold for mode change 1 2 3 4 and edit

the reson for this is some people like to turn of rapidfire when playing with sync you have to cycle 5 mode to turn off
but with butt is easy tap and you mode stays there

for ex: you have gun on mode 1 firing rapidfire on MW2 and you pick of sniper tap butt rapidfire off
and when you switch gun just tap and its back on again ...  very usefull

you can run both at the same time meaning installing cync and butt at the same time

Does it have to be a tact switch or can a momentary switch be used?

If not, for the tact switch, I only need to solder two ends of it to the two button points on the Intensafire and nothing else? No ground or power to it?

Well the tact switch would be momentary.  Get a 6x6x9.5 momentary tact switch and that would work perfect.  If i have time today, ill make a diagram on how to wire.

I only need but one lol. Dunno what I would do with 50 of those.

So two of those ends would go to the two button points on the Intensafire and that's it, I'm done? Does it matter which end I choose of those 4?

2 of the pins would be for power and ground and the other 2 would be for the power and ground on the intensafire and thats it.  Lol i know you dont need that many but those are the ones you need

I would recommend it because you need the button to be long enough to stick out on the backside of the shell

there is no power and ground needed ...

use one side of the butt one pin to the top pad on intensafire which is ground
and the other to the 2nd pad with is the  signal from the pic and its power from the chip
here is a picture hope this helps ..
just look at the 2 wire and the tact switch everything elase don't worry about it
did not feel like striping it down to just intensafire and butt

LOL... guess i missed all the action

IMHO the only way to use intensafire is with a button and sync.  The way it is coded is so that you can use either sync or button or both.  doesnt matter, you wont be able to fool it :)

Personally when i use intensafire I turn it on and off with a quick press of the button, and then i use sync to change modes. the button will change modes with a press and hold of the button as well but it takes time and time is money ;)
