FORMAT A


Legend:
   Purple -  resistance
   Yellow -  power/Wattage
   Green -  current/Amps
   Red -  Voltage




Ohm's Law is the fundamental formula for electronics' Voltage, current, resistance, and power.

Voltage is expressed as the letter V or E
   Voltage's technical name is called electromotive force or EMF

current or Amps is expressed as the letter I or A

resistance is expresses as the letter R
   resistance's technical name is opposition to electron flow.

power or Watts is expressed as the letter W or P

current is normally called Amps.
power is also normally called Watts.



All of The Ohm's Law Formulas are:


To Find current--
   Voltage Divided By resistance: IV / R
   power Divided By Voltage: IP / V
   Square Root of power Divided By resistance: I = √(P / R)

Electric current is the flow of an electric charge.



To Find VOLTAGE --
   power Divided By current: V = P / I
   resistance times current: V = R * I
   Square Root of power times resistance: V = √(P * R)




To Find POWER --
   Voltage Times current: P = V * I
   Voltage Squared Divided by resistance: P =    V2 / R
   resistance Times current Squared: P = R *    I2




To Find RESISTANCE --
   Voltage Divided By current: R = VI
   Voltage Squared Divided by power:R = V2 /    P
   power Divided by current Squared: R = P /    I2



BEGINNER'S PRACTICE:

Voltage = 14.5 Volts

OHM'S LAW

Section 1:

Ohm's Law is the fundamental formula for electronics: Voltage, current, resistance, and power.

Abbreviations expressed in Ohm's Law are:
V or E = Voltage also known as Electromotive Force
I = Current
R = Resistance
W = Power

The easy ways to remember basic Ohm's Law are V = I * R and P = I * E because you can algebraically manipulate the formula if you need to solve for a different value. If you have 2 of the given values you can solve for any other value.
You can easily remember the power formula by P = I * V or the 'pie' method P = I * E because the abbreviation V is the same as E.



Section 2:

Voltage, Current, and Power are all directly proportional.

If resistance stays the same and voltage decreases therefore your current will decrease.

Ohm's Law works in series circuits and parallel circuits.

i vote for b simply because you used briiiight colors... it you toned it down a little and possibly used a coloring scheme that didn't look like a kitchen  in the home of mexico's top mariachi artist...

I vote for colors, and the colors look great. The chosen colors actually represent what they are, which is GREAT when you're looking up quickly with a project in front of you. It's kind of a standard having things color coded - and it would be very against the grain to go otherwise.
I do want to ask - why is white even an option?

What i meant is for him to town down the colors... purple doesnt have to be pimp purple, and yellow doesnt have to be sunburst in your eye and make you blind yellow...

See, it doesnt have to be bright colors.

1) Doesn't match the theme of AM
2) Promotes eye fatigue (at least i felt it after a little bit.
3) I Only voted for B because A was threatening to take my lunch money with its threatening stare.

Personally I don't see much of a difference in the color shades and brightness, but w/e I'll let you guys hash out trivial :censored: like that...

If you ask me I prefer the way it's done with color and I think it would be more helpful for people to learn from as it makes distinctions in the text and color coding is a proven and effective method to helping people learn new material (though the yellow in the beginners practice section is a bit unnecessary, definitely remove the yellow and keep it standard grey/white). However, I think that the two should be combined really. I think representing the information in a paragraph format like in B would be helpful as that's how people read, and there is information in B that should be in A (and vice versa), like the P=I*E chart; if you're going to spend the effort to help people learn visually by using the color coding, then a graphic representation needs to be included in order to relate the information to. Personally I think the two need to be combined into one method as all the teaching/learning methods and information presented in each one is completely relevant and shouldn't be left out of either.

What do you guys think of using the bright colors in pictures and photographs, but having it toned down when it's text against black forum background?
