NO!!!
« on: February 21, 2009, 02:23:42 PM »
 OK, I'm   :censored: ing pissed right now. So, a while back while putting my psp together, the black lcd tab broke off (The smaller of the two), and shortly after, my psp started having black lines on it. Over about a month, it grew from 1 line to 3. So today I hear that it can be fixed by holding the connecter in place and putting a small piece of paper under it for support. I put it back together, and now It's One huge line in the same place. NOW WHAT!!!! I really don't want to buy a new lcd, because I'd assume that one would break also... Any ideas  :cry2: :beg:

It sounds like is not your LCD but the LCD connection to the mobo. For some reason the connection is not fully making correct contact. Try to reposition the ribbon cable again and this time try using some electrical tape to keep it from bracking contact and moving around. Good Luck..

Ive had this problem, just get a pair of light, small accurate pliers or tweezers and push the pins really hard down (With the connector in) and make sure you arnt damaging themotherboard, then get some electrical tape and overlay it all, and voila

That's the same thing I did when mine broke off. Just snap it back On With tweezers and it held.

It also looks like your larger lcd connector is not inplace correctly. the lcd backlight shouldn't affect the image. it just lights up the back of the screen. check both connections. you might find that one of the pins on the larger connection might not be pressing down correctly on the cable.

or you could just solder 4 bits of wire from the connector to the pins.. works for me

my backlight blew out when i tried to push the connectors in with a pair of needlenose pliers.

so let me get this straight: the small connector controls the backlight, the large one controls the actual lcd.
