How fast is the pc? Also, do you play the audio file once, then play it again but immediately pause it? That's how you unlock it.

It's a button you press in JF. He's not doing it manually. It doesn't matter how fast it is. I've done it on a 400MHz P2. Maybe you should know before telling him...

I had the same problem, but I don't remember how I fixed it. Haha.
You're putting the 79 Unlock CD in the 360 drive, right?
I don't have access to a 79 and a [working] windows computer right now or I'd mess with it and try to help more.

When it opens up after putting the disk in, take the disk out and leave it and let JF respond. It takes a while..

What kind of CD is it on? Make sure it's a CD-R for best results. I had that problem but I still can't remember what fixed it...

I'll wait till someone tells me I can upload it before I do again.

I remember I used a .PDF to flash my 1st Hitachi 79, and it said you need a P3 system or better... but whatever.

The way i think i stopped it from spittinf the CD out was to keep my thumb on the Disk tray. it would try to eject but i would keep it in there. after 2-3 times it finally read

the gears will be fine, the teeth are large enough to not snap.

try this:

1. With the drive open, put the 79 unlock disc in
2. Press eject twice to close, then press it once more for it to stay closed and not open.

allowed me to play the 79 unlock disc

Play the audio file using windows media player. Wait till it stops, then play again and immediately stop it. Then just dump the info. I've never used jungleflasher, i prefer the DOS tools

ok but when i put the cd in the drive while its in mode-b and hooked to my pc it dosen't give me a autoplay window and if i go under my computer and select the drive to try and play it there it locks up the pc and won't stop till i power the drive off it shows under the device manager and everything just keeps locking up either jungle flasher or the desktop if i try to open the cd with windows :faint:  :censored: :faint:

WTF LOL damn. It might not be freezing up, just taking a while to load. Like freeze up, not being able to move the cursor or hourglass of death?

It locks up. Yeah.
You don't need to play it in WMP.

the eternal circle of death and like i said the drive just freezes any program that trys to use it as in it says Not Responding going to try that FW-toolbox and see if that does it haven't used it before so cross your fingers for me i'll just stick to using jungle flasher for the easy drives LOL
