It seems the MacBook (6,1) could soon be up for a hardware upgrade, says engadget.

"
an unannounced MacBook update (identifying itself as a MacBook7,1) that includes a faster 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor (up from 2.26GHz) and NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM (an update from the GeForce 9400M found in the current MacBook6,1)
"

This would bring the MacBook to par with the specs of the entry level 13 inch MacBook Pro. Considering the price (if, indeed, it does not change) then this will be an amazing value offer (if indeed this is a true leak)

The 'Network Test 1' playlist, otherwise known as Generator Defense, went online today with a 3v3 Spartans vs Elites Gametype and a new map reminiscent of high ground from Halo 3.

It is available now to all public beta testers. Of you aren't already in the Beta, you can access it through the Halo:ODST menu.

Apple May Be Headed Down a Dangerous Road
by, aquatsr

We may recall that Apple (and Steve Jobs) has stated that Flash support will never be on the iPad and iPhone. Apple claims that Flash harbors a large security risk and thus they cannot allow Flash support on their devices; of course they completely overlook the fact that most video content on the Internet utilizes Flash, citing HTML5 web-apps as the future of media content delivery.

In their latest response to Apple, yesterday Adobe took out advertisements in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times as well as posting an open letter accusing Apple of suppressing healthy competition.

Quote
We believe that consumers should be able to freely access their favorite content and applications, regardless of what computer they have, what browser they like, or what device suits their needs. No company — no matter how big or how creative — should dictate what you can create, how you create it, or what you can experience on the web.

Steam Retail Version of Max Payne 2 Contains Cracked Code
by, aquatsr

Game companies are always complaining that without DRM, hackers can more easily develop cracked versions of their games and release them for free which cuts into profits for the game companies. While that is true to a certain extent, this latest development from Rockstar Games seems highly hypocritical.

Supposedly, Rockstar Games took a DRM-free, cracked version of their Max Payne 2 game and compiled that for Steam availability instead of removing the DRM from their version and recompiling that for release. Essentially "stealing" the cracked code.

With the new motion-plus bundled controllers and black accessories, it was only a matter of time before Nintendo released a black system. I didn't think it would take quite this long but now that it finally released on May 9th, I went ahead and picked one up....
